Included in our workshops at the college and university level:

  • Exploration of practical tools for professional application
  • A deeper dive into rhetorical devices, and how Shakespeare applied them
  • A first-hand discussion about the world of regional theatre and Shakespeare

Interview an Actor is a workshop where students have the chance to interview a professional actor and watch a live Shakespeare performance. Students can ask questions and discuss topics such as, “What is the value of Theatre?”, “Is Shakespeare worth studying in school?,” and “How does someone make a career in the arts?” Actors end the workshop by offering insight and context for a specific Shakespeare scene and giving a live performance.

THE VALUE OF SHAKESPEARE

Actors share how Shakespeare’s work creates empathy by exploring multiple perspectives, inspiring questions rather than answers, and ultimately giving us a chance to step beyond our own experiences and examining the world from a different point of view.

A CAREER IN THEATRE

How does someone make a career in the arts? Actors share their unique experiences from their artistic journeys. 

WHY IS SHAKESPEARE AMAZING?

Actors discuss what makes Shakespeare exciting for actors and audiences, sharing some of their favorite Shakespearean passages.

FILM VS. THEATRE

What is the difference performing onstage in a Shakespeare play versus on film? Actors relate their experiences performing for stage and screen and explain the differences and similarities.

LIVE PERFORMANCE

Actors give a live performance of a Shakespeare scene!

We use an online platform of your choice to bring Teaching Artists to your school virtually.  Students have to opportunity to work with two or more Teaching Artists allowing for more personalized attention and a lower student-teacher ratio.

What Shakespeare play does this workshop focus on?

We are happy to cater our workshops to the specific Shakespeare play your class is reading, or we can suggest a play from the Shakespeare canon.  

How long is this workshop?

All online workshops are adjustable in length to your specific class period or after school program. We can offer recommendations based on your class size and experience level.

What Shakespeare scenes will you perform?

We perform scenes from the specific play focused on in the workshop.  

Can this workshop be in person?

Due to current Covid 19 restrictions, all workshops are online. Hopefully, we’ll be able to come to your school in person soon!
